We’ve been fortunate to support local talent for several years, and today we’re introducing to you J\u00e9r\u00e9mi Doyon.<\/span><\/p>\n

After a fun little Dirt Jump session at the Bromont National Cycling Center<\/a>, we took the time to ask him a few questions:<\/span><\/p>\n

Q. Where are you from\u00a0?<\/strong><\/p>\n

A. Orford in the Eastern Townships!<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n

\n

Q. How long have you been cycling for? It’s impressive to see your tricks on jumps\u00a0?\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n

A.<\/strong> I’ve been cycling for quite a long time. Like many others, I started around the age of 4 or 5. I was immediately on the pedals, then building small structures and finding ways to make them higher and bigger. I got my first mountain bike when I was 10. My passion for BMX didn’t follow quickly. I did a lot of BMX racing, but never really to race. What I wanted was to fly. I participated in races not to go fast, but to ride new jumps. So I never really got into the competitive spirit. My passion for Dirt<\/em> and transitions came much later.<\/span><\/p>\n

\"\"<\/p>\n

\n

Q. What motivates you ?<\/strong><\/p>\n

A.<\/strong> My favorite thing is getting together with my Dirt Jump community around a line and seeing everyone push themselves. Dirt isn’t a very popular discipline, but the people who practice it seriously are gems. From all over Quebec, getting together from time to time takes us back to our roots. It’s a wonderful experience.<\/span><\/p>\n

Q. What’s your favorite trick, your favorite trick on jumps ?<\/strong><\/p>\n

A.<\/strong> I like<\/span>\u00a0flips<\/em><\/p>\n

Q. Your favorite place to ride ?<\/strong><\/p>\n

A. One of my favorite places is Frisco Adventure Park in Colorado. It’s where I took my first flights. It’s also where I’ve been able to ride my biggest jumps to date.<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n[vc_video link=’https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=r4iXck4ro7E’]\n

Q. Next personal challenge ?<\/strong><\/p>\n

A.<\/strong> By 2022, I’d like to share my passion for jumping with as many people as possible. I’d like to create a buzz around this style of riding, which is so healthy and beneficial for a cyclist’s development. There aren’t enough places to practice it in Quebec, and that’s why bringing this discipline out of the shadows would allow us to create new lines and advance the sport at the local level.<\/span><\/p>\n

\n

Q. Next sporting challenge ?<\/strong><\/p>\n

A. By 2022, I’d like to land new trick combos that I had barely begun to master during my trip to British Columbia at the beginning of the summer. Currently, we don’t have enough dirt\/slopestyle jumps to continue this progression in my region. That’s why I spend a lot of my free time shoveling to recreate the perfect jump.<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n

Q. New video project in the pipeline ?<\/strong><\/p>\n

A.<\/strong> I’m working with my colleague Fabrice Cloutier on an upcoming video project. The rest remains confidential.<\/span><\/p>\n
