VÖLKL SHINE 78

Original price was: $999.99.Current price is: $799.99.

For women looking for a sporty, playful, fatigue-free day exploring the entire mountain, in all conditions.

This season, the new Shine 78 is the ideal option for female all-mountain skiers who prioritize fun on the slopes without compromising on comfort. Fast, agile, and eager to turn, it performs best in mixed to compact conditions on moderate slopes, showcasing maximum versatility.

The newly installed Multilayer Woodcore, part of the redesign, ensures lower weight and additional pop. Switching from the foam core of the previous model to a full wood core enhances the ski’s sportiness, provides more stability at higher speeds, and is also a significant step towards greater sustainability. Thanks to the 3D Radius Sidecut, the Peregrine 78 now impresses with outstanding agility, bringing a smile to the faces of those who love short, crisp turns.

With the proven Lowride Integrated Binding System, the Peregrine 78 now also offers a wide, lightweight, and lower binding that further improves agility in tight turns and reduces effort when stepping in, thanks to the TCX heel unit. Identical in construction to its larger siblings Peregrine 80 and 82, the system was used for the first time on a ski under 80 mm. The direct integration into the wood core also ensures improved power transmission from the binding to the ski.

Description

  • Profil: Tip & Tail Rocker.
  • Construction: Full Sidewall ABS – Zebra Structure.
  • Technology: 3D Multilayer Woodcore – P-TEX 2100.
  • Full Sidewall ABS: The specific synthetic substance of the entire sidewall enables a precise and direct power transfer.
  • P-Tex 2100: A sintered high-density and high molecular polyethylene base with great gliding characteristics and high durability.
  • Steel Band: A steel band in the ski provides very good durability, controlled flex and smooth skiing in faster speeds.
  • Tip & Tail Rocker: Character: Bends up only in the shovel and tail zones, with a camber shape in the middle.
  • Glass Frame: The Glass Frame offers a wide range of skiers effortless access to dynamics and sportiness while serving stability and shock absorbtion in the shovel and tail area of the ski.
  • 3D Radius Sidecut: Three radii in one ski for maximum. // Turning & speed versatility in all mountain skiing. // Long tip & tail radius. // Usage of long radii at tip and tail for big turns and high speed. // Easy steering and maneuverability. // Disruption resistant at the tip. // No radius limitation and ease of turn exit. // Tight center radius. // Usage of shorter radius in the center for short turns and lower speed. // Extremely easy to initiate short turns. // Strikingly agile. // Effortless and smooth in short turns.
  • 3D Glass: Compared to classic glass constructions the three-dimensional and multiple-folded glass layers in the tip and in the tail area result in an increased edge grip and a more vivid rebound behavior in turns. 1) 3D.Glass is integrated in the tip and tail of the ski // flat glass under the binding making the center softer // variable turning at any speed. 2) Glass above the sidewall //providing additional support for superior edge grip on icy slopes 3) Vertical glass in tip & tail area //more pop for faster edge to edge changes.
  • Zebra Structure: Engineered for ultimate on-piste precision, Zebra Structure features a deep, high-definition base pattern tailored to narrower, system-mounted skis. This aggressive structure delivers lightning-fast, reliable turn initiation and smooth, controlled drifting for maximum carving performance.
  • Serial Finish: Straight from the factory to the mountain, Serial Finish ensures every ski is perfectly tuned for immediate performance. This precision-crafted surface treatment maximizes glide, sharpens turn initiation, and eliminates the need for additional prep work.
