Description
- All the travel in the world is useless without the right shock setting and kinematics. For the new Stumpjumper EVO design, we focused on kinematic performance. By applying the lessons learned in the development of the Enduro, and then with over 1,000 hours of development in the field and suspension lab, we not only improved the pedaling performance of the Stumpjumper, but made it more capable, agile and lively. We’ve increased the anti-squat, so the suspension is more resistant to pedal strokes, and we’ve further improved bump performance on square-edge strokes. At the end of the line? This machine tears up the trails, not the legs.
- The S-Sizing geometry of the new Stumpjumper EVO is the most progressive to date. Long, low, relaxed, short offset forks, steeper seat tube angle – these are requirements for a modern progressive ride. But not everyone does it the same way, which is why the geo on the new Stumpjumper EVO is fully adjustable with six different settings. You can adjust the height of the BB by 10 mm, you can change the angle of your head by two degrees and you can make these adjustments independently of each other. Finally, if you want to go full mule, the EVO allows you to use a 27.5″ rear wheel coupled with a 29″ front.
- Rider-First Engineered™ frames use a size-specific approach to ride characteristics that ensures benchmark handling and seamless performance, regardless of frame or rider size. Whether you’re an avid jumper riding an S1 or a DH giant in need of the long S6, you’ll find the same riding characteristics – tight turns and balanced front and rear rigidity – at the lightest possible weight.
- We introduced the SWAT ™ door on the Stumpjumper in 2016, adding room IN your frame for those “oh sh ** t” necessities like pumps and spare tubes, and immediately making jersey pockets unnecessary.
